Steven Wieland has assisted both plaintiffs and defendants on a broad array of legal disputes, including cases involving trademarks, products liability, commercial transactions, corporate governance, real property, professional liability, and secured transactions. When not litigating, he assists both physical and web-based businesses develop the legal tools they need. Mr. Wieland also is among Idaho’s first attorneys specializing in regulatory compliance issues facing businesses in the wine, beer, and spirits industries. Specifically, Mr. Wieland has:
- Successfully represented a homeowners association in its corporate-governance dispute against a developer.
- Prevailed in a professional malpractice suit against an attorney client.
- Assisted a Brazilian manufacturer pursue breach-of-contract claims against a domestic purchaser of goods.
- Counseled local breweries and wineries on compliance with state licensing laws.
During law school, Mr. Wieland was an intern at the University of Iowa Legal Clinic in Iowa City, Iowa, and received the Dean’s Award as the single top-performing clinic student. During the summer of 2008, Wieland was a summer associate for Schiff Hardin in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, Wieland’s experience includes an externship with the Iowa U.S. District Court, and running as a city council candidate for the Mount Vernon City Council, Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
