Jon Bauer is a business attorney focusing on business formations, general business counseling, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate and other general commercial transactions. In his business practice Jon represents clients including startups and established business entities, corporate tenants and landlords, business buyers and sellers and lenders.
Jon also works extensively with clients on estate planning and probate matters. Helping clients navigate the often complicated and difficult issues that arise in such cases is a rewarding part of his practice.
Jon’s experience in both the estate planning and business arenas provides him with the unique opportunity to help his clients with business succession planning. From the earliest planning stages through completion of the full business transition, Jon applies his extensive knowledge to help assure a successful business transition allowing his clients’ businesses to successfully operate over multiple generations.
Prior to joining Hawley Troxell, Jon was a partner at the firm Meuleman Mollerup and, prior to that, practiced law at an international law firm located in Boston,
Massachusetts. He is a member of the Idaho State Bar Association and is also
licensed to practice law in Massachusetts.
Jon is very active in the legal and local business community. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Idaho Technology Counsel and spent many years on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Idaho Botanical Garden. In 2007 Jon graduated from the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce two-year
“Leadership Boise” program which selects only those individuals who display the energy, intelligence, and business acumen to become future leaders of the
community. Jon received both the Idaho Business Review’s “Forty
Accomplished Under Forty” and “Leaders in Law” awards. Jon is a member of the Ted Trueblood Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Sawtooth Society, and is a volunteer soccer and basketball coach.
