John Cafferty, an Idaho native with more than 19 years of legal experience, is a member of the firm’s Municipal Law group.
Before joining the firm he was the Deputy Civil Prosecutor for Kootenai County for 12 years where he advised county elected and appointed officials on a myriad of legal and ethical issues.
Mr. Cafferty serves as City/District attorney and general counsel to a number of North Idaho municipalities and Districts. He has significant knowledge in governmental procurement (both real and personal property, as well as professional and personal services), public works construction, public records requests, open public meetings compliance, election law, land use, risk management and human resources.
Mr. Cafferty has dealt extensively with the Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe, assisted Kootenai County and many of the cities therein in creating and managing the FTA funded bus system, and has also worked on large scale construction jobs for airports and the Solid Waste Department.
