Brian Ballard is a member of the firm’s real estate group, and focuses his practice on commercial transactional work. Interests and projects include shopping center and apartment complex development, planned community development, EB-5 Visa regional center formation and financing, renewable energy projects (most recently wind and dairy anaerobic digesters), transit centers, sales tax anticipation revenue financing, and infrastructure district financing.
Brian serves as outside counsel to Valley Regional Transit, southwest Idaho’s regional transportation authority, and to COMPASS, the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for northern Ada County and Canyon County. He has lectured extensively on Section 1031 tax deferred real estate exchanges; was founding counsel for the Idaho Association of Realtors Legal Hotline; was past president of Building Owners and Mangers Association (BOMA) of Boise (and has been Master of Ceremonies the last 13 years for the annual Boise BOMA Real Estate Symposium); has chaired the Public Participation Committee for COMPASS; has served on the Board of Directors for Senior Programs of Boise City/Ada County; and has served on the Boise City Development Impact Fee Advisory Committee.
