McGown was recognized on July 16th at the Idaho State Bar’s 2014 annual meeting at the Hills Country Club in Pocatello, Idaho. The Distinguished Lawyer Award recognizes attorneys who have distinguished themselves through exemplary conduct, professionalism, and years of dedicated service to the legal profession, and to the citizens of the State of Idaho.

John McGown is an experienced tax attorney, with depth in a broad range of tax-related areas achieved through over 30 years of practicing law with Idaho’s oldest and largest law firm. He has taught graduate courses in estate planning, partnership tax, state taxation, tax-exempt organizations, and personal financial planning. Outside of the office, McGown enjoys the outdoors and has completed 17 Races to Robie Creek (toughest half marathon in the West) and has reached the Summit of Mt. Borah, Idaho’s highest point.
