Book Review Published In ABA Banking Journal By Partner Thomas Chandler
Added by Hawley Troxell in News on January 19, 2011Hawley Troxell announced that partner Thomas Chandler was recently published in the ABA Banking Journal for a book review on Corporate Governance: Principles and Practices, by Walter A. Effross, Wolters Kluwer, 2010. Chandler’s review, “Why ‘Governance’ Replaced ‘Directorship’ – and Why It’s Lacking,” was published on January 7, 2011. He commented, “The fundamental issue in corporate governance is the business judgment rule and the circumstances when it does and does not apply.”
Thomas Chandler’s practice includes counseling boards of directors – and individual directors – regarding their legal and business responsibilities. In addition to having written numerous articles, Chandler has given more than 40 presentations on corporate governance topics. A veteran corporate director, his background includes business ownership and working as outside counsel for various businesses. He is the chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. Chandler earned his law degree from the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
